Bringing a Taste of San Francisco to Colorado Springs
In March of 2020 I was living in the San Francisco Bay Area of California and working in a bookstore. A few weeks later I was laid off from the bookstore and moved back to Sacramento to live with family. In October of 2020 I made the two-day drive to Colorado Springs, with my sourdough starter safely nestled in a lunchbox in the passenger’s seat.
Feeding the Community
You can find Rustic Peak Sourdough at farmer’s markets from May to September. Check out my Instagram for highlights from the Backyard Market in Black Forest (2021-2023), the Monument Hill Farmer’s Market (2021), and the Briargate Farmer’s Market (2021)!
Meet the Baker
Welcome to my bakery! My name is Lidia (and my cat’s name is George). I started baking sourdough in March 2020 during lockdown (when everyone else was doing it, I know). Since then, I’ve learned how to bake sourdough at high altitude and invested a lot of time and energy into bringing my bread to as many people in the Colorado Springs area as possible. I’m always learning new recipes and expanding my knowledge. My goal is to bring great bread to my community!
